Today was a monumental day for the clan. Ok...I must admit I have never been a big supporter of graduations other than those for high school, college, and higher education. However, the program today brought tears to my eyes as we watched HS make a transition between his preschool days and the start of his school days. The school did a fantastic job with having a program of fun, songs, and laughs so that my tears could remain at bay. Let's face it, next year I'll be the basket case on the first day of Kindergarten...HS's been ready for that stage since last summer! We are delighted that he has such a love for learning, a desire to make friends, and the sense of humor to not take life so seriously that you forget to smile and laugh. May he always hold those dear to him.
The school did a combined program today. There are two different classes (those who go M/W/F and those who go T/TH) at The Poplar School and what a treat it was to see them sing their songs together and even put on a play called "The Dragon Can't". Our little guy was the star performer and my what a dragon he was.
The program ended with a rousing rendition of "Kindergarten Here I Come"

With tears in my eyes, HH's hand on my arm, and HS's pride in his accomplishment showing(let's talk turkey...do you remember how it felt to learn to write your ABCs, count to 100, draw your first stick figure, and begin to read?), I couldn't be a prouder mommy!
Watch out future Kindergarten Teacher, HS is on his way!
