After nearly 14 years of debating when the perfect time to add a canine child to our clan would be, we tossed aside debate and stepped into action. Sunday, after an emotional rollercoaster morning, we welcomed home a 9 pound bundle of 7 week-old Australian Shepherd joy: Cody. Yes, indeed, I have a Western dog now...I can see the open skies and prairie lands racing towards infinity. The Rockies,reaching so high as though they just might touch the sky and in Big Sky country, they do. Cody will surely live up to his namesake as we welcome him in a warm embrace into our clan. Our dynamics and way of doing things will change, but we're up for the challenge...all five of us.
It will be a challenge we're sure with two children's schedules, one very spoiled and cool cat, the demands of our nomadic military lifestyle, and now an adorable pup, but as a kid you always imagine yourself directing the world's best circus...why not live the one you're co-ring leader? I can just hear myself now as I wear a bright red dress and stunning hat..."step right in folks! Welcome to the many different acts and talents of our clan...they are sure to keep you on the edge of your seat...as watch as now puppy learns the way of the clan!"
