How do you open up a world of imagination? Give a little boy a box of Legos with no instructions and sit back and watch a new world form right before your eyes. HS has always enjoyed building and creating. After a few weeks of Lodge life it was apparent that we needed more Lego opportunities than what a city Lego set had to offer. So, after a visit to the NEX, he is on track again and obsessed with creating his Lego world.
Yesterday his creations were providing fire services to a small town on the hill (our sofa) and by the afternoon they were Navy ships about ready to attack the "bad guys" (who happened to have a base on LD's blanket). This morning his creations were in the far reaches of space where no one has ever explored but had just located an alien (the window sill near Kendo. Ahhh, the sound of happy chatter. A welcome relief from days spent trying to appease the clan in the lodge. I'm rather happy listening to him live in his Lego world...wonder where he'll be next...

Thank god for the imaginations of children...Without them where would we be? I know where we'd be...in a lifeless, mundane world with no creative impetus...The dreams and imaginations of childhood grow into the innovations of tomorrow...It's all good!
